I've got, like, a bit over a week to learn 6 songs before I sit in with a metal band who asked me to sit in. I don't want to take my tablet on stage with me because, IMO, it would look a little too unprofessional for these guys to have their bassist with a tablet on a stand just hanging out. (Maybe in a pinch I could put the tablet on the floor?) Does anyone have an idea for crib notes that are pretty well hidden? In my head I'm thinking something like what marching bands use or a wrist band like an NFL quarterback might use.

Thank you in advance.

ETA: I eventually settled on this forearm wrap and it worked good. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C3LXZ7GB

I got interested in roundcore rounds since I kinda like the more mellow sound but I don't really enjoy the always dead sound of flats. I also heard roundcores felt more flexible or balanced tension wise and that's very appealing to me. So does any one of you have experience with any of these strings? How would you describe their sound vs a hexcore for example? And considering I play med gauge (45-105) could I go a gauge up for a bit higher tension and better low end clarity?

Every now and then, I love playing around with tremolo, flange, envelope filter, fuzz, creating really cool synthy and ambient tones.

And then I get to a sound I think is so cool, but then it just feels like... if I could have a second clean bass playing underneath those tones, it would sound awesome.

Like realistically, 99% of the time, it just sounds better when all the fun synthy sound effects are coming from a keyboard or an electric guitar, and then you have a mostly clean bass playing underneath it all.

And then I enter a loop of going back to clean bass, then I add just a smidge of effects, then I think those effects sound cool and increase them... you get the point.

Does anyone else fall into this madness?

Currently I am separating songs with Demucs and then using anthem score to help identify notes when I am screwing it up.

I am just curious what others are doing.

Slowly developing a bass stream. Making original music, honing my production techniques, taking viewer submissions, and just hangin'. Come say hey :]

I saw a video of someone playing Bach's cello suite on bass and loved it, its very relaxing to play and a good warmup. Wondering if anyone else knew of any good classical lines to play on bass

A small collage of the clear coat work. I sanded down the wrinkles. 2 light coats of color a few days later followed by 6 light coats of clear. Now I wait a while for this to cure and then I’ll polish it.

It’s my first time doing something like this. I have a had a few issues with the clear coat wrinkling over time. Just going to sand it back re-color coat and try to clear again. Hope this is interesting for this community!

Ok, this is mainly just to see if there's anyone else here. But what's your favorite bass line to play?
