Those aren't peanuts. Pnuts are salted packaging foam. 
Actual food costs extra.
And so much legroom.

Money bags on the wing that paid for the upgrade to have a seat.
A cost cutting measure because those that didn't pay for the upgrade usually don't complete the journey.
