Today is the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It is supposedly built on the place of birth of Ram (the protagonist of the Hindu epic Ramayana).

Even more significantly, where it is built used to stand a mosque called Babrei Masjid. It was built in 16th century and was razed by Hindu faacist by mobs in 1992.

The consecration ceremony will be attended by big names like the Prime Minister.

To feel less lonely in the sea of idiocy i can tell you that Polish sejm (parliament) crowned Jesus Christ as king of Poland in 2016.

We're monarchy now.

But seriously, according to law and constitution, formally it was a coup, but such acts don't even raise many brows in Poland.

""Anticommunism"" is a hell of a drug... if the historical figure were anything like his followers claimed him to be, no doubt seeing this shit he'd have pulled out the whip and done a repeat of what he did at the temple.

Ok, didn't know that and also didn't expect such absurdity. I looked up, and there is also this gigantic statue of Jesus in Poland, which didn't even seem to fit the aesthetics of the region.

Ah Jesus in Swiebodzin, now that is a prime meme material, especially when they installed the ~~holy spirit transmitters~~ cellphone antennas at his head (were removed later)

[–] rostselmasch@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 8 months ago

Hahaha, they installed antennas on Jesus.

He refused to disclose the details of the contract, but said that the local church needed the network for a video surveillance system, adding that the agreement is completely legal.

Video surveillance system, provided by a gigantic Jesus statue. Jesus sees everything.

They should look up what Jesus did to merchants and actually learn about him more.
