Man, depression's a bitch...

and having to wait two months for an appointment is even worse. (fuck the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung for not giving out enough seats)

Do what you can because the kid said a double negative, meaning he can do something.

[–] Lemongrab@lemmy.one 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Depends on the dialect. For example in AAVE double negatives don't negate (iirc).

It's contextual, just like in all other forms of English.

The "no double negatives" rule is a fake standard that stuffy Romeaboos tried to tack on to the language, just like they did with not ending sentences with prepositions.

So the next time someone tries to correct a double negative, or tells you not to end a sentence with a preposition, call them a neofascist and punch them in the face.

There's always something you can do, even if that something is just staying informed.

yeah but what do I do if I can't do anything and I am expected to do something

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 11 points 9 months ago

do what you can. If that means saying you can't, then stand up for yourself and say no

[–] CobblerScholar@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

I needed that today, thank you
