We should claim that the Chik-Fil-A mascot is transitioning next and watch their heads spin

Posts must be:

- ...their original headlines, that...
- ...would make people who see the headline think, “That has got to be a story from The Onion, America’s Finest News Source.”

Oh noes, where will they get their vinegary gristle sandwiches now?
This should become a trend
Absolutely. So many of those people are cooked
I've never heard of this, but my guess is some people shared the headline and people reacted to that without clicking on the link, and even if they did click on the link, they didn't tab into the about page or read the "please subscribe" bit at the end, which are the only places it says it's satire if you're going in from a link. Other than that, it just reads like a sarcastic conservative-leaning writer talking about real plans.
Of course that'd never happen over here, right? You'd never react to a headline without reading the article, right guys? And even if you did, you'd at least tab into the about page to check if it's satire, right? Right? . . . guys?
Sounds like you didn’t read the article.
I only skimmed it, but I did read through the satire article. So I just read through the one linked here, and I don't see where you're getting that from. The tiktok doesn't say it's satire in the video either. I don't use tiktok, but from what I can see, the account description doesn't appear when you're just watching the video.
I got that from how you said you’re guessing how this happened, the great joshing opportunity.
It looks like an attempt to goad the right that hasn't gained the pushback the satirist desired.
I've only heard about it on lemmy.
When Fox News is outraged about "Disney's trans princess", I'll believe the right took the bait.
Too, too funny.
Look at them! Look at these rubes! These buffoons! These incompetents! Do you see how many LIKES their posts have? Tens of thousands of lemmings, rushing towards the edge of a transphobic cliff! They’re so psyched at the idea of hating trans inclusiveness in mass media that they don’t give the first shit about whether or not they’re treating blatant, labeled satire as fact.
By the way, I haven’t seen a single other outlet reporting on fake trans Moana using the word “Broana,” and I’m really fucking disappointed. In all of you. For shame.

I have a friend who is conservative. We have similar interests and get along fine, but we avoid talking politics. This doesn't surprise me at all. There's so much misinformation on the right. I've been pretty blown away by some of the dumb shit he believes. Conservative media has such a weak argument most of the time, they have to just make ridiculous stuff up to have anything resembling a sane position.
@roastedDeflator I mean it is a funny piece of satire and I support satire. But did they? Reading the article? The only thing I can see is the tick tock has a lot of comments. Is that what it means When we say they fell for it? that tick tock has a lot of comments. I don't see any screenshots of articles where people were writing think pieces about it. Just three tiktok comments? This feels more like an ad for that satire website. And if so it kind of worked, I bookmarked it. I'll check it out.
there was also an Instagram post ig
to be fair I would 100% not be surprised if it were a thing.
Yeah they are stupid idiots, there's nothing they're not too gullible to believe.
