Honestly? Still haven't found one.

The communities I've found are all fine, but I haven't found any that are a tailor match for me. Every one so far has either been not quite my cup or a ghost town.

I'm mostly sticking to All and interacting with posts I like as I see them, with no real care given to what community they are from. Individual communities don't have much for me, but all of Lemmy combined holds my interest decently well.

Fair enough, my thoughts are that as Lemmy gains more users and gets more features more and more content will be suited to more and more people.

Hopefully that made sense

The amount of carpet in wet locations ๐Ÿคข

[โ€“] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Love that one! The amount of toilets in places they should not be is terrifying. Combined bathrooms/kitchens... why...

[โ€“] HurlingDurling@lemm.ee 10 points 10 months ago

Ok, this is my new favorite community

[โ€“] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 40 points 10 months ago

Much like on reddit, I love !SuperbOwl@lemmy.world

Meant to include that one too. Thanks!

The Risa community seems by far one of the more participatory ones and their meme game is strong. But I am slowly seeing engagement go up on other subs. I'm patient.

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !pixaraimemes@lemmy.ml

[โ€“] raptir@lemdro.id 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't know if anyone monitors this bot, but is there a way to get a similarly generic link to a specific post?

[โ€“] dandroid@dandroid.app 6 points 10 months ago (6 children)

There currently is no way. Though many front-ends do it automatically, including mlmym (old lemmy), voyager, and alexandrite.

Big fan of !rpgmemes@ttrpg.network

An artist was posting a daily comic there for a while, which was the highlight of my Lemmy day.

[โ€“] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

AskLemmy. Blows my mind how great it is for crowdsourcing questions

[โ€“] dandroid@dandroid.app 14 points 10 months ago

This is a shameless plug (okay, there's a little bit of shame) for a community I moderate. But I'm actually really happy that !hockey@lemmy.ca is started to get a decent number of posters that aren't me!

[โ€“] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 14 points 10 months ago (1 children)

here for the shitposting, am stuffed

[โ€“] Express_pickle@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 months ago

And the funny part to me is that they are all high quality posts lol

Unsuprisingly !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com and !selfhosted@lemmy.world made the transition quite well.

The german communities didn't transition quite as well as i hoped, but the like of !deutschland@feddit.de and !dach@feddit.de still see enough engagement to serve their purpose.

So i guess those are my favorites so far. Simply because they already function quite well.

Beyond that i am more of a Star Wars/Lotr guy, but i am warming up more and more towards Star Trek (liked it before aswell, but didn't dive into it too much). Especially since i enjoy some of the current series (Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks) quite a bit.

The german communities didnโ€™t transition quite as well

You've gotta be kidding? I feel like Germans are the 2nd biggest demographic after Yanks on Lemmy. They seem to be everywhere flaunting their sinister .deusernames. I try to speak to them in Rammstein lyrics only to be ignored.

They're as friendly as a concrete wall and as funny as a dead kitten.

[โ€“] golli@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago (2 children)

You stopped that quote a few words too early and left out the "as i hoped" part. I guess i simply had unrealistic high hopes that we would collectively move here, but the mods of /r/de opened back up at some point and the majority is still there.

But you are of course right that overall there are quite a few of us here. I guess expanding into a new space that is leaning towards communism is something we have experience with.

Enjoy browsing Risa. Content is good and the people are also chill.

I'm at the point where I'm considering watching the show just to understand half of my everything feed.

Shameful plug: !buyitforlife@slrpbk.net & !mealtimevideos@lemmy.world

I try to keep mealtime videos stocked with interesting content, but BIFL could use some more folk to keep it active.
