Holy shit, that's so cringe, it physically hurts to read.
A personal philosophy whose main tenet is "be annoying".
Annoy people who follow religions, regardless if they're minding their own business or if they're actually doing harm.
Annoy other atheists for random bullshit.
Basically, annoying people is its own reward. The point is to convince yourself you're superior to other peeps.
Though the RAYTHEIST community is no longer what it used to be. Most of the big names that kept it alive were absorbed into larger movements, mostly political ones. We now know them as "debate-bros". There's leftist debate-bros, rightist debate-bros, centrist debate-bros...
i've been called a debate bro before for asking for sources to back up claims of fact. is that a common debate bro tactic?
Simply asking for sources doth not a debatebro make.
There's a certain smarmy attitude paired with self-importance that makes a debatebro.
To be like, proper debatebro you have to be stalking people and demanding they debate you based on a statement they made days ago. You have to be sneering and asking for a source when they say that water is wet, even though water being wet is such a common piece of knowledge that the onus of proof should be on the one disagreeing. Shid like that.
Annoying atheism I think.
Anyways, atheism is based as long as people aren't annoying with it.
Reddit Atheism, in a nutshell, is a perverted form of atheism that replaces religion with science as a dogma.

ah, i see. specifically, i see that the only religion they use to back up their claims that religion is bad is Christianity. no mention of Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. anywhere. so uh let's see here...that's a Texas sharpshooter fallacy (some people who are bad are Christians, therefore Christianity is bad) combined with an induction fallacy (Christianity is bad, therefore all religions are bad)? so much for the logic they claim to live by
That is simply because Christianity is more popular where they live. Nothing illogical about not dunking on religions obscure to them.
I'll take a counter position here: r/atheism community very likely come from the insecured positions of atheists. By that I mean, being severely hurt mentally and physically by their societies. Especially when they're still unable to escape from these society yet, strong emotions and solidarism will be involved. I believe r/atheism reflects more about the society we live in rather than its ideological arguments.
