If you're ever challenged to a late-night, drunken, pants-less, barefoot race, make sure to take your pants off slowly and hand them to a friend.

If you take them off too fast you'll lose all the shit from your pockets.

Hope this helps!

You said in a different thread that you were considering posting it to the Hexbear ama community.

Are you dumb ?

Yes, can you explain what controversial things you're going to say?

Cause i am asking people if they would like me to ?

The title of the post is "where can I post my ama" not, "is anyone interested in my ama".

Why not post it to the Hexbear comm?

Wtf i wasn't going to say anything gross or offensive

Then why did you say it would be controversial?

I didn't really even want to post it.

Then why did you make a post about posting it?

It sounds like you're planning on posting something you know will be offensive, and you're looking for a place that will protect you for saying gross things. You should either:

  • Just keep it in drafts. AMAs aren't a thing for regular people.

  • Post it in the Hexbear ama comm so they can tear you to pieces.

I keep a running Google sheet on my phone, and add prices as I buy stuff at the grocery store. I have a core skeleton template with things that I buy every week, and then I add my planned meals and anything I have written down that I need.

It helps to keep impulse spending down, and track costs per meal. Grocery costs have really increased in my area, though. It feels like they've doubled in the last two years.

I think there's probably a couple qualities that go into reading well. I think it might be helpful to read something, easy, fun, and entertaining (to exercise the "reading words" muscles) and something relatively short and deep at a slower pace (to exercise the "reading slower and understanding deeply" muscles).

I haven't read Crime and Punishment, but I thought Notes from the Underground was interesting!

The farming answer to a mall ninja punch knife

I recently finished the Epic of Gilgamesh, and I'm starting a collection of poems by Rumi.

I've previously read Cold Mountain by Han Shan.

Are there any other ancient poets/poems with published work that you'd recommend?

I'm looking for things that are:

  • Basically as old as possible
  • Poetic/mystic
  • Not Christian (or Western, Greek, or Roman).

Thanks!

It was a really good read. The main character is a such a breathtakingly massive hater.

"For us who are determined to break the back of colonialism, our historic mission is to authorize every revolt, every desperate act, and every attack aborted or drowned in blood."

I just finished it today. It was very interesting to read of the lives and traditions of the Ibo people, and it was very sad to see them begin to be destroyed by the colonial machine.

"He of whom they have never stopped saying that the only language he understands is that of force, decides to give utterance by force. In fact, as always, the settler has shown him the way he should take if he is to become free. The argument the native chooses has been furnished by the settler, and by an ironic turning of the tables it is the native who now affirms that the colonialist understands nothing but force."

There's clearly something about to happen in Western Asia, this is meant to be a question related to the situation, but mostly a place for speculation.

Is there a way that Iran can aid Hamas without a risk of being nuked? Is it easier for Hezbollah as they aren't exactly a country in their own right?

Is the only way to engage a nuclear-armed state guerilla war waged by internal dissidents?
