That was an unusual rookie mistake by Hamilton. πŸ€”

Rogue mechanics jumping onto the grid lol

[–] bhmnscmm@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Kinda looked like Alfa to me.

Someone is getting a penalty

Crazy to think not too long ago Hamilton was lapping Albon in a Red Bull. Now Albon is ahead of Hamilton in a Williams

Sainz, Leclerc and Perez basically doing identical laptimes. Let's ignore Max and it's all really tight

[–] DV8@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

That describes the 2023 season really.

Happy the two Ferraris finished that race in one piece. Those last couple laps were intense. I’m always glad to see two drivers from the same team battle, but that was something else. Congrats to Max for the 10 wins in a row.

Yuki out before the race start. Not an auspicious beginning.

[–] bhmnscmm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Better now than during the first lap or two I suppose.

Austrian TV just aired a highlights summary of the 1988 Italian GP, which was the only race of that season not won by Senna/Prost in the McLaren. Gerhard Berger and Michele Aboretto snabbed the double win for Ferrari in their first race victory in a decade.

Really cool to see these kinds of historical tidbits.

I'm sure hoping a similar streak is broken this weekend.

Soo, how far will Vestappen be ahead today?

A: 0-10s

B: 10-20s

C: 20-30s

D: more than 30s

[–] 50MYT@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Is this after the first lap or first pitstop...

[–] The_one_and_only@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

D will not happen. Then he will demand an additional pitstop for softs and the fastest lap.

Dang. Yuki out already. Hopefully Liam's car is fine.

[–] No1@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Don't the Mercs traditionally run hot?

[–] alteredEnvoy@feddit.ch 2 points 1 year ago

Italian civil war right here

The entire track is a DRS train

Sainz did excellent. Ferrari just needs to not screw up their pitstop now.

[–] alteredEnvoy@feddit.ch 2 points 1 year ago

Ham seems to be on good strat, medium tire till the end of the race

[–] hagelslager@feddit.nl 2 points 1 year ago

I'm fairly certain the McLarens will pass Albon, but I hope Albon stays in the top 6.

[–] SlicingBot@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

What are the chances that McLaren beats Aston Martin in the constructors by the end of the season? They've already fallen behind Ferrari.

[–] WhoRoger@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

So what happened to Ocon, anyone knows?

[–] BaskinRobbins@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Now here's to hoping Williams doesn't fuck Albon on strategy

[–] DV8@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wonder if they'll have to lift and coast if they underfueled because of potential safety cars.

[–] like100dollars@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not after three formation laps

[–] DV8@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

True, but I'm still curious whether some people gambled harder.

[–] bhmnscmm@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Awesome start by Carlos! Hopefully Leclerc can keep on Max and put a little pressure on him

[–] No1@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

3 tenors? Who could have predicted that?

[–] hrpanjwani@reddthat.com 0 points 1 year ago

So it’s 4 DRS trains so far.

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 0 points 1 year ago

Race director uses teamradio and Discord to communicate with the teams, according to Alexander Wurz.

For some reason no message via the official notification board this time, usually this should happen (and is visible as a toast message on the TV feed).

Snooze fest so far. Honestly surprised Carlos is still ahead.
