All terrible 🇺🇦 takes, all the time.

Takes do not have to be Ukraine/Russia related. Any bad take from a 🇺🇦 will suffice.

lmao I remember this. Plombir was a cheap ice cream made available throughout the entire Soviet Union, which of course means that Ukrainians are super nostalgic for it too.

The polish Śnieżka is basically the same too. It's frankly good shit, to the point where you can find Plombir even in every supermarket here in Germany, even in the west and in the countryside.

Who would have guessed that you could make ice cream with checks notes cream and sugar and it would be good? Americans need fifty ingredients that can only be derived in a lab for our treats!

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 1 year ago

But just imagine how much worse it would taste without 4-methylacetophenone

Ice cream that's not over the top with flavors? LITERALLY SOVIET PROPAGANDA AND RUSSIAN PSYOP

Wait, Ukrainians like the Ice-cream? THEY STILL HAVE SOVIET LEGACY LEFT AND IT MUST BE REMOVED!!!!!!!!!

Bruh I can't even.

pretty much what to expect from NAFO bots. Mayo personality ass havers. They want to go viral so bad they'll make anything about anything in hope that something sticks. Their jokes in the thread are terrible, but I'm glad I got to learn about plombir from this nonsense.

Dude's biggest claim to fame is a diatribe on the horrors of an ice cream cone.

It scares me that these people are teachers though.

Obligatory reminder that behind every NAFO avatar there is donation to the Georgian Legion, real war crime mercenary group.

On a side note, you know how conservatives and fascists like to cry about how skittles are spreading LGBT "ideology" to kids? This is the liberal equivalent of this.

Or how there’s a pedophile ring operating behind a pizza parlour.

The most sane NAFO folks be like

I love how it ends with daily updates about how everyone but the author and those who agree with them are "seething" Because when I'm totally not upset I post daily updates on how upset everyone but me is.

Honestly, I empathize with this poster so much

Because how I view and react to this is definitely how my coworkers and friends view and react to me whenever I slip out unhinged ClA bashing or capitalist cultural hegemony in our society

In a different timeline me and that guy would've been best friends rambling about the Saturn timecube to strangers on the subway

Wasn’t this the ice cream that was super regulated by the government so it had to be made, essentially, perfect?

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It was, but that’s to be expected due to state standardized production.

Here’s some info on Plombir, etc. for those interested: https://www.rbth.com/russian_kitchen/2017/07/25/why-milky-soviet-ice-cream-was-the-absolute-best_810945

I think it’s weird that that guy is so against Plombir because it’s plain and regulated. But isn’t that a good thing, that food is regulated? He’s acting as if the Soviet Union lacked flavour in general and therefore were an a front to God. So what, did they just not have spices back then? I’m confused why they’re so angry.

Anyway, thank you for the article, I’m definitely interested since I saw a nice post about it on Twitter. Who doesn’t love ice cream???

What's with Nazis and gigantic online tirades that something that others enjoy, is actually bland and boring? They do the same thing with middling film or other mass consumed media as if it's the end of the world that "Star Wars LVI: Ressurection of the Messiah" is just a rethread of the third movie.

Are they this obsessed with consumption that they can't fathom production being devoted to something they don't enjoy for once?
