Remember kids, silicone lube is not safe for silicone toys.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 51 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Also, whilst we're on the subject, cement lube is not safe for cement toys

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 19 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Does that also apply to superglue lube, and superglue toys? Asking for a friend.

[–] ignotum@lemmy.world 23 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

No that works fine, its been stuck up there for two days now and shows no sign of liquification

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Plenty of good water based lube out there, even some stuff that you mix yourself and can adjust the thickness of too.

[–] Pavidus@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago

Excellent recommendation, I absolutely love that stuff, and a lifetime supply is cheap! The worst part about it is finding a good bottle to keep it in.

It's fine for platinum cured toys, but you better be really sure it's platinum cured.

[–] Pavidus@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago

Absolutely! I was just running on the assumption that:

  1. If you're buying toys at Spencer's, you're probably not after super high quality/expensive toys.

2)For those unaware, a blanket "no" is easier to remember and safer to follow.

3)If you're in the market for platinum grade cured toys, then you are already well past this learning experience.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 10 hours ago

And even then, probably not worth the risk

[–] Exusia@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

What a very specific grade you would list, as there's a brand that sells exclusively plat grade

[–] kungen@feddit.nu 5 points 10 hours ago

I'd also assume it's referring to TPE-based toys? All that "jelly" stuff is garbage and shouldn't be allowed to be sold.
