As usual the problem is people will bitch about it... but then they will do it anyway. We always forget that voting by keeping our wallets closed is a powerful defense against bullshit like this.

Exactly. Don't reward this kind of behavior.

Unfortunately, we Americans have proven that most of us would sell our very souls for the smallest convenience...and corporations know it.

Every body got no money but some how they are still buying 100% discretionary software....

I've watched gamers en masses say this shit for 15+ years, and you know what's interesting? These companies STILL do it.

EA still sucks. Ubisoft still sucks. Layoffs are still happening. Corporatization still rules. DLC still went rampant. Games as a service still is a thing.

Interesting.

Almost like boycotting and hand wringing and rambling endlessly with whiny virtue signaling online hasn't made a difference at large.

Boycotting is doing nothing. If 99 people do nothing and 1 person buys the game, studio still makes revenue.

You know what you can do to stop bad games practices? Share resources on how to do piracy. Shoplift copies of the game and dump them in the trash. Write to your politicians and ask for customer protections reform. DDoS their servers. Use the internet to bully and troll people who admit to playing the game. Cancel people who stream the game.

I'm boycotting EA since Origin and Ubisoft since UPlay, don't use Epic and I think I only bought one Denuvo title before boycotting them as well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The problem is more that most people don't give a shit in the first place.

I honestly respect the people going so far to buy the game just to badly review and then refund it. I just don't buy games with such stupid crap (well, except Doom Eternal which I bought because I overlooked the rather small golden box and actually even forgot that I linked a Bethesda account years earlier for some freebie or whatever it was).

The people that

bitch about it

probably aren't the same people buying remastered games on release.
