Isn't it crazy how so many modern democracies use FPTP and are all slouching towards fascism? It's almost like the rules of the game dictate expected outcomes.

The far-right is surging in countries like Germany and Sweden too, where they use PR, not FPTP.

It's not all systematic. Sometimes bad actors are able to make political hay with ethnic grievances. Naming no names, cough Russia cough

Not necessarily fptp. Portugal had broadly proportional representation and is seeing an increase in far right
