In your own words, what happened?
All we know is that the rumor is he was texting with someone underage and set up to meet them at a con. He's admitted portions of that in his responses online, but nothing you can really pin down.
Amazon thought whatever he did on Twitch was bad enough to cut ties with him and pay him out.
No legal action has been taken, and he didn't violate the contract, so Amazon had to pay him out to cut ties.
Do I think he's awful? Yup, and I don't support him at all.
But we know just about nothing, and we definitely don't know any more than we knew months ago. Yet people are hanging on every word from the press like it's news and not just rage-bait.
Let's be honest. He doesn't have the best history in terms of cheating on his wife. Once a cheat, always a cheat.
From my knowledge he wrote explicit messages with a apparently 17 year old with consent, not cool but still disproportionate reaction.
Some people said it was way younger but there is nothing official about that so its not valid unless proven otherwise.
(17 is legal in 99% of countries btw, still not a cool thing to do but seriously people should mind their own business and not obsess over such things)
There is legality and then there is morality.
We're not throwing him in prison, so there is nothing legal going on.
His behaviour was morally wrong though, and puts every brand associated with him in a bad light. I would never want to be associated with a man in his 40s (presumably married) trying to fuck teenagers.
I don't say that it was not a bad move, i say the reaction is disproportionate. And no it really doesn't put anyone in a bad light except him, its his actions and his private stuff...
I honestly think the reaction is incredibly fair and generous to him. What he did was pretty scummy. Now he gets to go be rich by himself and live a comfortable quiet life.
