sometimes when I click on a post that is an image, I see the image briefly then it dissappear and this replaces it (lemmy.world)

Not sure. I know in connect the information is there and sharp enough as i sometimes back-and-forth to read elements of a meme. If that snapshot is there, why not serve it up and have it linger if it detects a deleted image?

Probably possible but most want to see the full image not the small one, especially for art

Ideally, yea. But for simple memes the smaller one is fine. It's so teasing to see a glimps of it and then it going black
