"We have invested a lot of money, £1.5m, in research. We have an expertise in this area now.

I’m sorry, but £1.5 million does not sound like a lot of money for FIFA, especially not for serious medical research.

That's what... Three doctors?

I'd expect that once you count salary, benefits, and other costs like equipment and travel, that £1.5 isn't going to pay for more than three specialists.
