I struggle to find unscented deodorant and it makes me so angry. Should not be difficult to find.
This thread is throwing me for a loop. Here in Belgium most deodorant I've interacted with is either unscented or at worst lightly scented (I just checked, mine is not marketed as scented but has "perfume" in the ingredient list and smells only slightly).
Axe body spray is a thing for lazy men who don't want to bother with a separate perfume and have a distinct lack in taste, but it's not the norm for anyone over the age of 16.
Maybe try to buy in bulk online, I'm sure unscented antiperspirant exist if only due to allergies.

I am 48 and don't know a single man who wears perfume daily. For me a fragrance is reserved for special occasions, like weddings or dates and to wear it to work would be considered quite unprofessional (like dressing up above your boss). But I guess we must all be lazy and lacking your refined taste... yeah
It might be a cultural thing then, but here that's definitely how it is. Men either don't wear perfume at all or they have a separate cologne or whatever. Putting both on is my norm.
I just checked on amazon.com.be, all the top results for "déodorant homme" are marketed as "clear, "clean" or "refreshing". The 10th result is the first one that has "long lasting fragrance" as part of its marketing. Axe only makes it to #13 with a chocolate scent.

I do agree with you that Axe is vile, and I use a lightly scented deodorant of a different brand myself ... but this notion that wearing an actual perfume every day is the norm for adult men is frankly ridiculous.
Ah no, I agree that many adult (men) don't wear perfume every day. But a unscented/lightly scented deodorant is not at all the same as a "deodorant+perfume" combo which Axe sells and the other commenters seemed to be talking about.
Do you have a link to such an Axe "deodorant+perfume" combo? Because I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing.
Literally every axe product is what I'm talking about, most deodorants try to be at least somewhat discreet but Axe's whole marketing schtick is "put this on and the overpowering smell will mind-control hoards of women into trying to get with you"
Oh right, so the same Axe as I had in mind then. Yeah, none of them smell good.
At least I am not the only one. As far as I know, they are widely sold in Japan along subtle scents like "Soap", but I guess that's about it.
Can confirm, can get just about anything unscented in Japan. Thankfully likely due to the general societal norm of not having a strong smell wafting about oneself. Though not all abide, most do.

Unscented; it only serves the purpose of not making me sweat or smell bad. And one that doesn't stain.
there's one I use that's just potassium alum salt dissolved in water, you could probably make it yourself very easily
I've seen them at target, aimed at women but they're there.
I spent like ten minutes in both the deodorant aisles at a local target (WHY ARE THERE MULTIPLE AISLES FOR THAT??) and found none, sadly

I'm so confused - what is UP with the hate of unscented deodorant?? I've heard it in a few places now and I have no idea what people are on about.
People might prefer scented deodorants because they enjoy the fragrance, while others might associate unscented ones with not being as effective at masking the smell of sweat or odor. It’s just a matter of personal preference, and to be fair some people don’t understand that others may have sensitive skin and need unscented products to help keep fresh with out irritating their skin.
