Here is what struck me recently about the Israeli people.
Germans went genocidal because of the depression. Because they were starving. Because they were suffering. Because they needed something to rally around, and Hitler gave them the worst possible thing to rally around.
Israeli's live the good life. They are wealthy. They are protected. They want for nothing. They are the American socialist state that Americans don't get the have, but pay for Israelis to have.
They are genocidal because they are human trash. No other excuse.
They are acting like every other group of people who was given special status. History is littered with the same cautionary tale. You cannot give any group of people special protections over another. It will always end in the group abusing their power for their own gain. Saddam did it in Iraq, Al-Assad did it in Syria, all of the colonial powers did it in Africa and those are just recent examples.
Certainly not all of them fit this bill, just like how not all Americans are vicious Trump supporting lunatics.
Israelis overwhelmingly support this "war", though. Not to mention the Israeli right is growing, not shrinking.
You're right, slightly less than a third of Americans support Biden, who is the architect of the genocide. Slightly less than that support Trump, and a little more than a third support neither.
This means that America isn't in the clear either.
I will readily concede "not all", but in both cases, America and Israel, "enough of a majority to be a Defcon 2 concern."
We are definitely at pre-WWII levels of fascism, and we need to do something about it before it comes to a head on a global scale, and with Russia aligning with South Africa, we are barreling head first into a global conflict, this time with America on the side of the genocide.

Still, the level of luxury Israel enjoys ala the US Public Trust really casts their behavior in a much more despicable light. If they were attacking Hamas, that would be one thing. At this point, it looks more like they just want to genocide Palestinians because they are bored and hateful human trash.
Sorry, but Germans didn't turn into Nazis because oft the Depression. There was a lot that lead to to uprising of the Nazis. Read about the Peace of Versailles or in German "Schmach von Versailles". Also political culture in the Weimarer Republic which was massively focused on raw violence between the different groups. Read about deflation. Read about Franz von Papen and so on. Don't search for excuses for right wing extremism.
Saying the Israeli people is on the same page or worse than Hitler adds nothing to the conversation and is, at best, just wrong. Best regards, a German.
PS: Don't stop criticising the acts of the Israeli government and definitely the IDF, but stop generalising and making all Jews responsible. Otherwise you could also say that all Palestinians are Hamas.

Otherwise I wanted to make the point that comparing the Jewish people to the Nazis is wrong and only ads more oil to the fire. Criticise Israeli government, IDF, violent settlers, stupid people blocking neccessary aid for Gaza but don't fall in the antisemitism trap where Jewish people even in other countries are held responsible for the actions of a right wing government.
But Melkath never even mentioned jews. He specifically said Israelis throughout his post. And he pretty clearly compared the Israeli people to nazis, not what you said, which was comparing jewish people to nazis.
It feels like you're doing exactly what the German government is doing, which is equating criticism of Israelis and of Israel to antisemitism.
He called the Israeli people 'human trash' (Isreal considers itself state of the Jews). And he meant all of the Israeli people. What do you think this rhetoric leads to?
And as I stated multiple times above I am all in on criticising the Israeli gevernment and no I am not doing exactly what the German government is doing. I would argue for a stopping of all delivery of arms via the the German government and for a ceasefire asap. I see a huge problem with the way the Israeli government walked into the trap planted by Hamas and is now part of a war which may be labeled as a genocide. So why should you call all of the Israeli people 'human trash' when you could specify your criticism? It's the same as calling all Palestinians Hamas.

And their big robust US built defense systems block virtually all of those attacks, leading to virtually zero casualties or property damage, as they perpetually use big robust US built weapons to pummel the Gaza strip daily, where they have no defense systems, where constant massive loss of life and infrastructure are endured.
Virtually zero is not only far from zero, it doesn't excuse constant aggression.

Every war in history kills more civilians than combatants. Normally that ratio is about 6:1.

Verifiably false. It's approximately 50%. Even up to 2007, Israel was able to kill Palestinian militants versus civilians at a rate of approximately 2:3. Suddenly, it's over 1:2. It's almost as if all the videos and journalist eyewitness accounts of the "most moral army" indiscriminately killing men, women, and children are actually true! They've killed so many civilians, they've wiped out more than that US did in its three year campaign against the Islamic State.

Right cuz 30,000 dead in 4 months is nothing. Did you think a genocide means every Palestinian is dead in 4 months? If that happened, every country on earth would have declared war on israel two months ago and every israeli official would be in prison for crimes against humanity.
As it is, the vast majority of scholars and countries do recognize it as a genocide and even America, israels biggest supporter, is saying maybe they should stop the killing of innocent civilians.

Given the incompetence of the Hamas led defense, no 30k in 4 months is surprisingly low. Gaza is incredibly small and incredibly dense. They (the IDF) has to use incredibly modern munitions to airstrike single buildings and minimize collateral damage.
If the IDF went full Russia and simply WW2 artillery barraged Gaza similar to Bahkmut I'd expect 250k+ casualties.

6:1 is the UN acceptable civilian to military casualty rate before they generally start investigating a conflict as a genocide. There's an estimate 50k Hamas fighter in the Strip. That's a theoretical headroom of 300k civilian casualties. That's the number that would make me think it's more than likely not a genocide.

And what kind of math is that? 50k Hamas would have to be killed for the 300k number to matter. The actual number of Hamas killed is way way lower. There is some dispute over the exact number, but between 6-12k which would be between 36-72k civilians killed.

I understand your position, but I'm still concerned that it is an attempted genocide due to the high number of civilian casualties, the methods israel has been taking such as using phosphorus bombs and pushing all civilians south to Rafah and then starting to bomb Rafah as well, and just by what israeli officials have said that are genocidal in nature.

Because if Hamas had been competent they'd be able to contest the airspace their fighting over and prevent wide scale bombing. What's more instead of killing babies and elderly and raping women they'd have secured a transportation corridor to the West Bank so they could be resupplied overland.
Or put more succinctly, they would have prepared appropriately for the war they started. And if they had done so and followed the rules of war Israel would actually have the political capital internally to negotiate a peace of some sort. Instead they said, "Let's put all of our resources into a slave raid."
Exact numbers of Hamas dead won't be available until long after the war. But part of the reason there's such a full court press to get Israel to stop is that they've got large pockets of Hamas surrounded in the North. At some point that pocket is going to fall and the number could double.

It's not unreasonable to see what's happening in Gaza and desiring that it stop. It's a very natural response. And you're not a bad person for thinking that way.
But at it's core Hamas has not only been unapologetic about its terrorist attack (which was proportionally larger than 9/11 when adjusted for population); but they've promised that they'd do it (Oct 7th) again. During the temporary ceasefire they broke it and fired rockets and or missiles every single day into Israel. Their leaders have confirmed that they don't see the wellbeing of the Palestinian Civilians in Gaza as their responsibility. They've ruled as a religious dictatorship, executing political opponents with no democracy for almost two decades now. They confirmed that they will never, ever attempt to live at peace with their neighbors. And they've committed widespread domestic atrocities against their own populace.
Hamas simply cannot be allowed to remain in power in the Gaza strip if there is to be long lasting peace. After 20 years of Hamas' rule it's pretty clear they will never be a party to something like the Good Friday Agreement and enter a period of peace.
