I don't think marijuana should be legal because smokers can't seem to not do it out in public and I don't want to smell it, breathe it in, or have my whole car filled with the smell. (lemmy.world)

I have never encountered a single smoker who understands that the Heat/AC unit built into the wall of a hotel room is actually a giant hole that pulls air and smoke into it.

I frequently have hotel rooms where some marijuana smoker is smoking outside their room and then suddenly my whole room fills up with weed smell.

Also, I have been at red lights and the person next to me is smoking and then my car fills up with the smell of weed. It happens if the windows are open or with the Heat or AC on.

I actually believe the government shouldn't regulate what we do with our bodies but the since marijuana smokers cannot be considerate of other people they shouldn't have the right to take away others rights.

As someone in recovery, I totally feel what you're putting down. HOWEVER, most places that have decriminalized/allow recreational already make it illegal to smoke and drive and (typically) public use is also forbidden. Just think of the smell as an unsavory fart or a water treatment plant; it's unpleasant, sticks to the inside of your nose, but passes shortly. Nothing you can do about it but wait for the TEMPORARY unpleasantness to pass.

Having worked in a hotel as well, if that happens just ask for a new room and explain the issue. Most front desk people (even late at night) are more than happy to do what they can to accommodate you.
