I don’t know how reliable this is, but it seems legit and with his popularity I do think it’s possible.

What’s everyone’s thought on this as a rumor and as a potential actual casting?

Pedro is great but with his current popularity there's no way he can come cheap, which means they'll be disinclined to take risks with the movie. He'll also be harder to get in a multi-movie deal, which is good for him and I wish all actors had stronger bargaining positions, but I'd hate for Fantastic 4 to be one-and-done.

Plus he's already 48 so could quickly age out of the role by the time they're ready to do a sequel or Avengers-esque team-up, especially when they have barely started working on the first movie.

All of these reasons make me wish they'd pick someone lesser known, especially if it's Reed Richards he's being considered for.
