Valez believed that two women had come to the house to evict him

Did 2 women come to the house? Was he just hallucinating? Was he on drugs? The story is not very clear.

He shot one of his children while aiming for another of his children, story seems pretty straight-forward to me.

He believed 2 women had come to his door to evict him. Did 2 women come to the door? It just says he believed they did. Was he hallucinating? The story doesn't explain that, which was my point.
