Wow. From r/GayBros? Srsly?
They were notoriously one of the more openly mysgonstic and "drop the t" of the queer subs. That's kinda wild honestly.
I was subscribed there for years and never saw a word of that...
Well I don't know what to tell you aside from seeing a lot of posts on trans subs where OP would be like
And the comments would be filled with people guessing
I won't argue with your experience, but at minimum that sub DEFINITELY had a reputation.
Redditors are known for making up random stuff just to cause drama.
you may be confusing r/GayBros for r/askgaybros. Roughly the same size and spelling, but only one of them has a strong reputation for transphobia.
Oooooh maybe! Thanks for the clarification!
I find it baffling how people from minority groups who have been discriminated against and excluded by the general public would so easily discriminate and exclude other groups in the same boat. If anything, I'd expect gay people to be the most sympathetic to the struggles and isolation that trans people face.
This is like having black people who have been fighting to end segregation, but decide, "if you're black with Somali ancestry, we don't want you."
They never expected the brownshirts to come for them, i guess.
c/leopardsatemyface material? 🤔
