MAYBE, just don't do activism in your place of work. for anything. especially if it's a publically funded thing.
I totally agree. The anti LGBT activists from the board need to be fired immediately.
remove the LGBT activists while your at it. activism doesn't belong in publicly funded institutions, regardless of what it's promoting.
if you read the article, youd see that they were neither lgbt nor "activists". They were simply doing their job and making a display on an interesting topic of books about neurodivergency. Would you also call for their removal if they'd made a display on cooking since that is "activism" to hurt the feelings of the "women are there to make me a sandvich" crowd?
Conservatives don't bother with things like reading the article, using the correct your/you're or just thinking in general.
I didn't realize existing was activism. But with that mindset we should remove all religious books for sure, stop pushing that Christian agenda. Especially if it's a publicly funded thing.
it really speaks to your ignorance if you think that's what I meant. Putting up ANY kind of signage like that regardless if it was for the alphabet crowd or nd crowds, in a library that's funded by the public, is in poor taste. Pretty sure they aren't going to allow them to put up a straight pride sign, or a "im neuro-normal" sign right? And they have to be dense to put up rainbows in JUNE and not have people assume it's a gay thing. use the grey matter between your ears, huh?
Hey man, I agree with you.
I think we should take the signage down too.
No more library signs or signs labeling the aisles, right?
In fact we should get rid of anything from there that has any writing at all!
Shit, I thought all the dumb fucks were still over on Reddit.
Could you imagine allowing people’s views and beliefs in a library?
What about a sign that simply says "Everyone is welcome here", would that be acceptable to you?
why do you need a sign to say that. just do it through your actions.
I fail to see anywhere in the article where they talk about the flag being related to activism. What exactly were they trying to accomplish with the flag? Where did you see the proof of that in the article?
The display included a book with this symbol and "the books Emma & Mommy Talk to God, The Color Purple, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Separate is Never Equal, Wonder, and To Kill a Mockingbird". Is the rest of it also activism? Or just the flag because they mistook it for being about gay people? Why were the rest of the books ok? Or are they not in your eyes?
What activism did they do?
are you serious?
Oh I'm sorry, a small piece of paper with the symbol for autism counts as activism now.
Damn, you guys are weak.
Stop being a bigot and people won't need to defend their existence. You don't yell at the bullied kid for hitting his bully. The bully wouldn't have gotten hit if he wasn't a bully.
How EXACTLY am I being a Bigot? Maybe use words that are less trendy. Not just ones that mean "people with opinions you don't like".
When those opinions are bigotry and you're here defending those opinions and making people against bigotry out to be the crazy ones, we know where you stand.
Also funny how you claim I'm just saying the trendy thing while you talk about people hating others simply for having a different opinion. It's projection the whole way down.
Because you're calling supporting autism 'activism.'
Don't be such a bigot against the neurodivergent.
