Afraid I'm out of the loop here. Not that I was going to use Wire anyway, but I'm curious what you're referring to?

fascinating. I've been looking for the articles (from 2019), but they seem to have scrubbed the web clean as they all lead to 404 now (including removing the statement on their own website, and on wikipedia), one of the remaining credible sources is from peter sunde: https://twitter.com/brokep/status/1194392575442067456

i assume the mass exodus just about crashed their company. i mean, who in their right mind would move a privacy/encryption focused server/chat service to the US? it's as if they didn't know their consumer base at all. there also doesn't seem to be any reproducible builds anymore, what you can download in the app store is different from what you compile?
