I feel like the fact they paid the same party that investigated them is an obvious enough conflict of interest to dismiss this out of hand. Whether the report is actually trustworthy or not, there is an incentive to come to a conclusion that aligns with whomever paid them and that alone should make people question the conclusions being made.

Mojang is owned by Microsoft. Both versions of the game are developed by Mojang which is beholden to what Microsoft's goals for the game are.

And then they pissed off their entire userbase with the PSN requirement. Incidentally AFAIK you still can't buy the game in countries that don't have PSN accounts available. So the fuckery probably isn't over.
