I wish I had the time to read in college. Between assignments, classes, presentations, and working two jobs reading for me was the stuff of fiction.

If you check your local library, you might already have access to a DVD set.

I highly recommend a MagSafe-compatible case if you’re thinking of getting into the ecosystem. Even a thin TPU case is enough to keep your phone from docking correctly, if at all.

In case anyone else misinterpreted the headline, Apple is not shelving the Vision Pro as a product line—just the current Gen 1 headset.

Apple has abruptly reduced production of the Vision Pro headset and could stop making the current version of the device completely by the end of 2024, The Information reports.

Citing multiple people "directly involved" in making components for the headset, the report says that the scaling back of production began in the early summer. This indicates that Apple now has a sufficient number of Vision Pro units in its inventory to meet demand for the device's remaining lifespan through to next year.

*Edited for emphasis.

I glazed right over Aardman when I read Barbie and Mattel. Feeling waaay better about this announcement. Thanks!

The new series will be stop-motion animation, in the same vein as the original.

I’ve never even thought to access BlueSky via anything but the ‘following’ tab. Wow!

I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t make deals with puppets either—they’ve always got strings attached!

Apple has released a guided tour of Vision Pro on its website that walks through a bunch of its features. Whether or not you’re planning to purchase Apple Vision Pro, this video is worth taking the time to watch.

Before joining Mastodon I remember reading about how instance owners could potentially have access to their user’s chats and messages. I don’t think I ever saw this about Lemmy, or at least never looked into that much. Is that also the case here? How much info is accessible by the owners here?

That said I love the service and am happy to be here lol

Are there any technical/performance reasons why I couldn’t create an instance for myself and host a Plex server off of the same machine at home?

I’m fairly new to self-hosting in general, so any insight would be appreciated!

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention that this would be for a Mastodon instance, not for Lemmy.
