The only issue I have is catbox being broken on my phone. If proxying fixes that then I'd support that one. We don't need to keep the image on our servers forever I think.

I've always believed that human subjects of photographs should have equal copy rights. Anyone can take your picture and then own that rendition of your face but you can't take a picture of the eiffel tower at night because you don't own the lights. Light bulbs have more rights than people.
When the admins spend more time banning people for speaking against fascist russia than developing lemmy it doesn't matter what the userbase is like. And not wanting to participate in an instance where the admins religiously scan every comment for wrongthink is pretty reasonable and not tribalism.
