Guillotine is such an offensive word. I like „social scissors“ better.

For any EU citizen I can recommend to sign the official petition to the European Commission — so that billionaires can finally contribute their fair share to society: https://www.tax-the-rich.eu

Anyone who signed the one should be signing the other as well. It’s not that you can sign only one of them.

That is quite Something for Adam, I guess.

Universal Basic Services (UBS) is an alternative case to UBI.

Under UBS, the provision of free public services must go beyond health or education to cover other basic necessities (e.g., housing, care, transport, information, nutrition).

UBS can be more egalitarian with a strong redistributive performance and impact on income inequalities.

UBS can also be more sustainable by decarbonizing the economy in a just way - rather than disproportionally loading the costs on the lower income brackets - and by supporting sustainable consumption corridors.

France and Germany already hit their quorum. Now five more member states need to hit 100%. And the main goal of reaching 1 million of course.

You can just try. It will tell you if you already signed.

Most work is done when the sun is shining. Appliances can be remote controlled or automated. Studies have show that only 10% of energy consumption has to be „smart“ to cut off 90% of the duck curve. The rest can be done with batteries and other storage.

The head of the Australian energy market operator AEMO, Daniel Westerman, has rejected nuclear power as a way to replace Australia's ageing coal-fired power stations, arguing that it is too slow and too expensive. In addition, baseload power sources are not competitive in a grid dominated by wind and solar energy anyway.

Tax The Rich

A big plea to you to support "Tax-the-Rich". The aim is to tax the super-rich in order to finance more climate protection. If this EU citizens' initiative reaches certain thresholds, it must be scrutinised. A powerful tool if it is used.
