Yeah the more I read it seems some crucial security software deployed bad patch.

I'm sure whatever OS would dominate would face widespread issues just by the numbers.

But to be fair it's fun to make fun of Windows/MSFT :p

It impacts you financially and the time lost in setting up bazzite. Your family misses you.

I think it is already happening gradually. SteamDeck has single handedly opened the eyes of so many already. M1 Macs did that for macOS as well.

Could it be that consumers are putting money where there mouths are and this is just Microsoft desperately trying to increase their margins since their business isn't growing anymore?

I mean the more people move away, the more likely it is Microsoft would milk the ones who can't.

CoD on GamePass is too big of a loss I suppose.

Yeah it's pretty cool. Sometimes the translation can even beat native performance.

SteamDeck, emulate everything.*

  • Proton technically isn't emulation, but it's pretty crazy that the device basically doesn't have anything natively built for it, everything is translated emulated. It took that much effort to break Microsoft's PC gaming monopoly.

Will this mean PS5 games in coming years would come in two disks?

Update: never mind they were always using 100 gb

Yup! In the latest friends per second podcast the podcasters were talking about how From Software games (tbh Lies of P is a love letter to bloodborne) don't explicitly give you a difficulty modifier but the games themselves have several things/objects/weapons that can modify the game difficulty for you. It's like the setting is hidden within the game, rather than on the menu.

This idea really clicked with me. So if gamers want an easy mode, they use the "cheeses", if they want hard mode, they ignore that, and if they want to change difficulty, they simply equip/unequip the cheese.
