Really? I've found uploading the same image to pict-rs multiple times gives a different hash. It does not seem to dedupe at all.
FWIW I've upgraded aussie.zone to 0.18 and encountered no isses, apart from the removed captcha support. But my instance isn't huge by any means.
Gotta add that to my repertoire.
Devs removed websockets, uses plain HTTP now as I understand it. Should help with subscriptions, and odd scrolling of old content appearing.

sh.itjust.works appear to be running lemmy 0.17.4 still. 0.18-rc6 came out today, which seems to have resolved that issue for me.
