A longtime Wonderswan enthusiast, unusually for his usual game-related video repretoire, gives his first impressions upon vivid/statis, a free VSRG-ARG-visual novel hybrid released by Hajimeli back in 2023 (on Steam) for PC platforms

Still on Touhou 8 (Imperishable Night), and then, vivid/statis, of which its latest tournament quarterfinals tiebreaker just came out and I was far no less impressed with how I managed to almost teeter on gaining any Fails on the Middle Chart, just a few Goods, due to my laptop sometimes overloading on RAM while the application's running.

As for the former, I've been taking small steps on figuring out routes for Keine's second spell card attack on Normal Difficulty; on Easy, my new run-ender's on Reisen's second spell card attack, where shotgun bullets fade in and out whenever those blood red eyes periodically flash.

It's been months since this community's original home at kbin.social (RIP), and the summer-fall window's still hot up the rhythm gaming world, as a few days ago, Sunrise Showdown, vivid/statis' second official rhythm game tournament (though with teams instead of individuals, and in a Jet Lag-esque deckbuilding format), had just started a few days ago.

Still, it's a fan-run fediverse hub for all things about that one fun, quirky rhythm game-visual novel-puzzle hybrid with an aura of scifi and mystery at your fingertips, so if you're a fellow fan of rhythm games with extensive lore and stories, come join us for the wild ride (also looking for addt'l. mods and designers)!

Former Palawan governor Joel Reyes, accused as the brains in the 2011 murder of broadcaster and environmentalist Gerry Ortega, surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, according to the Presidential Task Force on Media Security.

The PTFoMS confirmed Reyes’ surrender to the NBI’s National Capital Region office on the night of Sept. 11.

Further details regarding the surrender have yet to be released by the NBI and the task force.

Ortega, a critic of Reyes, was shot and killed on Jan. 24, 2011, in a thrift shop in Puerto Princesa, Palawan after completing his radio program.

The journalist frequently criticized local politicians, including Reyes, whom he accused of corruption and allowing the exploitation of Palawan’s natural resources.

Reyes, who fled the country in 2012 alongside his brother, then-Coron mayor Mario, was apprehended in Thailand in 2015.

Now that sort of piques my exploration juice, especially with roguelikes/roguelites that have extensive, deep-enough systems and lands to dive into, and the bit about resolving fights and incidents with practical real-life measures and techniques common to the usual adventurer, instead of the usual HP- and MP-decreasing system seen in most other games... alright, into my wishlist it goes.

Plays at the main menu screens of the aforementioned vertical bullet hell shmup game.

You again? You have activated my flamin' spellcard attack, Greg!

This original appears as one of two "boss" songs in Chapter 4; TW for intense, flashing visuals, all of which are done by AriaL.

For the record, I did reply with something akin to interconnected bamboo rafts in the middle of the ocean, with some tethered to seashore docks and cliffs.

China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels yesterday rammed and fired water cannons at the BRP Datu Sanday near Escoda Shoal.

Datu Sanday, a ship operated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), was on its way to Escoda Shoal for a humanitarian mission to resupply Filipino fishermen with diesel, food and medical supplies.

The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) said Datu Sanday encountered aggressive and dangerous maneuvers from seven Chinese maritime vessels between Hasa-Hasa and Escoda Shoals.

“These unprofessional, aggressive and illegal actions posed serious risks to the safety of the Filipino crew and the fishermen they were meant to serve. Despite these provocative maneuvers, the crew aboard the BFAR vessel maintains high morale and remains safe and unharmed,” the NTF-WPS said.

“Claims suggesting that our personnel fell overboard and were subsequently rescued by the Chinese Coast Guard are completely unfounded. This fake news and misinformation serves as a clear illustration of the PRC (People’s Republic of China)’s willingness to distort the truth and engage in disinformation to bolster its public image,” it added.
