There are so many legitimate things to complain about with Mozilla, why do people go out of their way to complain about the most innocuous shit.

There's experimental support, they're hoping it'll be feature complete by 2026.

Oof, seems like a rough situation. Glad at least that Godot itself isn't racist lol.

I've seen arch gain a lot of popularity lately, at least in my circles.

Steam hasn't (afaik) revoked access from a game that someone already owns, and DRM on steam is entirely optional, even if you use the steamworks sdk. (source: I am a developer making a game using the steamworks sdk that can run without steam open or installed)

The Mint upgrade tool got flatpak support so I don't even use the terminal to update anymore.

You posted something that's bad practice (for many reasons, including security). Like, nobody cared about your software habits until you posted them publically with no prompting. probably so you could act smug after getting downvoted.

Some build advice:

  • Be safe - don't wear socks, stand on a hard floor if possible, ground yourself if you have a wrist strap for that, and discharge any static by touching metal and/or the case before touching any components. And no matter what, DO NOT open the power supply, and definitely don't touch anything in it!
  • The huge motherboard connector probably requires more force than comfortable.
  • Watch through at least one build guide before starting. That way you know the process.

Hope that helps, and don't let it scare you away - it's really fun to do and if you're careful, chances are nothing major will go wrong.

I like rice but kind of like how I like bread. It's carbs that you put with other stuff give it more substance. On its own it can be OK (since its carbs) but pretty bland.

There's some Interesting graph theory problem somewhere in here about finding out if a network of N people in M relationships must include at least one gay person.

I've been watching through ds9 for the first time and the show has always been good, even the first season I thought started fairly strong. And season 6 (as I've said in another post) has started really strong, with an actual deviation from the show's status quo that lasts longer than one episode.

But holy shit, this might be one of my favorite episodes. Not just of ds9, or star trek in general, but maybe of any show I've seen. And as far as I'm aware people barely talk about it.

The whole episode is essentially Dukat's facade of composure slowly breaking down. He's always been an interesting villain, and at times his insistence that he's doing his best can almost convince you that he might not entirely be the bad guy; that maybe he is, in some way, trying to do good.

And a lesser show might try to redeem him. But not ds9. Millions died under his command, people were sent to the deaths, and as long as he tries defend his actions in any way there's no room for redemption.

This episode finally breaks down all of his fake pretenses of helping Bajor, or trying his best to "rule with a softer hand." Finally his deception is broken down and reveals what he has always been. And it's done in the best way possible.

The scene where he finally breaks down is fantastic. No music, just Marc Alaimo acting his ass off. The panning back and forth between him talking to sisko and talking to the various voices in his head...

"And that is why you're not an evil man?"

I also have PTSD.

Have you played a game that stayed in your head long after you played it?

For me, Outer Wilds would be that game. I feel like I haven't stopped thinking about it since I beat it a couple years ago.

What the hell, why is this so good. Like, I absolutely loved the show beforehand but I figured like other trek shows, it would stick to the status quo. But this is actual plot across multiple episodes. Things aren't being resolved immediately and the escalation and intertwining of all these plot lines is just amazing.

Good shit.

The trailer is mostly mood-based so it doesn't show much gameplay - It involves talking to AI (written characters, not real AI) through terminals to learn about the world. It delves into some existential topics about humanity and AI.

If you're interested I have an Itch page and a discord server. Or just ask anything you want here!

(And lmk if this counts as advertising and I'll remove it.)
