There's a big cultural divide for Illinois, Chicago isn't very "Midwest" compared to downstate.

Well that was crushing, my day is ruined. Good fight and surprising amount of class from Khamzat though

We had a good DA in my city, he ended up getting killed by some billionaire vigilante who went after the police commissioners family

Those festivalgoers and babies on the other side of the wall were a serious threat to Palestinian civilians

The only reason they can cut off water and power is because Israel provides them with those things. PA has been given money to develop infrastructure, but Hamas chooses to cut up pipes to build rockets and use cement for smuggling tunnels.

I'm a huge Volk fan so I'm kind of worried about the short notice and recent surgery. But I'd think he gets a trilogy regardless for taking this fight

Lemmy has a huge tankie problem and it becomes really apparent when a situation like this comes up

Why tankies/leftists think Palestine is in any way aligned with them is beyond me

I'm not going to defend forcefully displacing innocents, obviously that is an atrocity in its own right. But it's not indiscriminate killing like people are claiming.

Not having that data is exactly the point, if they had that sure they could specifically cut power. But they don't have that, and Hamas is mixing with civilians, so they're forced to cut power across the board

Hamas was elected in 2006 but has held on to power since. A poll from a few years back showed 52% support still, but I would hope that's had a steep crash now

Do you have specific instances of Israel actually targeting civilians when they're not being used as human shields? They've bombed civilian buildings, but usually because Hamas uses those buildings to house weapons. And with roof knocking/alerts, they are at least making some effort to limit collateral damage

There's a ton of users here who seem to be so blinded by "America bad" and trying to have the biggest brain contrarian take. Half the time it leads them to into a pants on head level argument that ignores basic, undeniable facts such as "intentionally targeting hundreds of civilians and proceeding to kill, rape and torture them is wrong"
