I could use this same logic to talk about your comment. People are free to dunk on other apps, so why not just mute the post?

I'm sure it's great, it's just that the rest of the excellent FOSS apps don't have any advertising of any sort. You can support them with donations and such, which I would definitely recommend. I'm using Memmy for iOS.

Also, Material design is cool, but nothing special imo. If anything it just makes it easier to design a nice app, so not sure why I need to pay to remove ads when there are hella free beautiful alternatives.

I'm in no way saying that people can't choose a freemium style app, I just personally don't see the value. Maybe I'll try it out on my dev android phone at home later and see if there's something I'm missing.

Shiit, if you think about it, we kinda already have a social credit system in the US. It's less social I suppose, but does affect things that effect our social status, like being able to finance a car or house afforedably.

Yeah, this is good advice for US domestic flights, but customs is a whole different ballgame.

As much as I like Lemmy, I was growing tired of the fixed width styles and decides to write some quick User CSS overrides to make it more compact and use the entire screen width.

Here's a github gist with the styles -- I haven't tested everything so there could be bugs. You can use a browser extension like Stylus for Firefox to apply the theme. I have tested with darkly theme only so far, but I imagine it'll work for litely as well.
