I replied to Blaze in another thread, essentially saying that !trendingcommunities@endlesstalk.org is currently a backup / potential replacement for this community (depending how things go with feddit.nl)

(Commenting on an old post to see if it'll bring it - and hopefully everything after it - through to a new instance)

Confirmed: they're all just saying 'Good Night' to each other like the end of a "The Waltons" episode. It's very wholesome.

Minor edit to move 'Sex Meme Pit' up a few places - it's swapped back again from a NSFW to SFW community, and the list was only showing its growth as a SFW one. I'm guessing that the Mod is going for 'SFW community with the more egregious posts NSFW'd out' approach.

No post yesterday, and some communities are possibly missing from today. Lemmyverse.net wasn't able to update - the dev has said it was due to issues with lemmy.world's API responses.

"Grenoble" is mostly in French, btw. So if you click, you'll probably only see the 2 or 3 posts that aren't tagged 'François' (depending on how you've set your profile up). This is how things should be, I guess.

Data is over for 18 hours (rather than 24) because LemmyVerse hasn't updated in 17 hours (it normally updates every 6-12 hours), and the day (for me) will be over in a bit.

nosleep at lemmyworld? That's only got 5 posts from a month ago, so someone will have to get their finger out.

I wrote a function that sent a post to the top community in New Entries, but then changed my mind about using it. That was for everyday though, so I thought it might get intrusive. I'll re-think it when a month comes up - it's difficult to know how users feel about bots.

Does the community need to be older than 7 days?

It does, yes.

I discovered eXoLite from your Community, btw. It's amazing, so thank you.

It's up now. It was feddit.nl's turn to fall over today. Sorry if you asked me this ages ago (I'm only just seeing it for the same reason)

I spent some time being "funny" at shittymoviedetails yesterday, which illustrated 2 things to me today:

  1. Creating Content is a good trick for driving up subscribers (18% in one day, so the 4.22% average demonstrates how in the doldrums it was)

  2. Visiting it from a instance from which nobody had subscribed showed me all the posts, but not of the lovely upvotes and comments. So things may appear deader-than-are if you're the first person from your instance clicking on one of these links.

I'm just chatting shit on the Internet, I'm not emailing my boss

A bot-driven site, providing a daily list of Communities trending across the LemmyVerse, determined by growth in subscribers.

Some people have already discovered it (meaning it's currently featuring on its own list!), but I always intended to post on here once the bot had been running for a few days. Now that it has, it can average daily growth over the previous days, to better highlight consistent growth (vs. a random spurt in popularity).

It's early days, but I think it's already illustrating some interesting things: e.g. the popularity of table-top RPGs on Lemmy, the kick that "Accidental Renaissance" got from Reddit migrants, or how the sudden investment in "Antiques Memes Roadshow" threatened to break the "All" feed. There's also appearances from Communities that featured here, so it'll be intriguing to see if the likes of "Deal Malls" can stay on the list (tune in tomorrow to find out ...).

There's also a "NSFW" version (see the link in the sidebar), and a post to discuss suggestions for improving the algorithm and how the results are displayed.

A place to post communities you've discovered (via cross-posts or by browsing through All). Especially ones that were never posted in New Communities (or if they were, it was a long time ago).

Community Discoveries

submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by freamon@feddit.nl to c/moviesandtv@lemmy.film

Synopsis: Nick Fury is so distanced from humanity he can no longer appreciate a full English breakfast; Gravik is so evil, he puts a bit too much sugar in his coffee.

Questions: did that teenage boy really just call his dad 'Daddy'?
Is it even his real dad, and - if not - why did the Naval Commander care what happened to the boy?
Where's the Skrull heart again? They seemed to making a point about shooting that guy in the left of the chest, but then the next Skrull is shot in the right.
Where did G'iah go to spy school? Was is Hanna Barberra Spy School?
Why am I still watching this show?

Cassian Andor (or possibly !cassianandor@feddit.nl if you prefer) is a community for discussing both the Andor TV show, and Rogue One the film.
Both feature Diego Luna of course, and I'm hoping that someone in season 2 of Andor will yell "Climb!" at him, so I can start referring to the set as The Climb! Trilogy.
Other projects by any the creatives involved are fair game for discussion too, as long as they're at least tangentially related.

Lets hope at least one of these links work:
