Not in the service industry, someone I know who does has once said they don't like people returning their coffee mugs because it makes it look like they aren't doing their jobs

Think that might just be a him thing though

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be it doesn't change how Linux works at runtime does it?

~/scratch.txt in my text editor of choice opened automatically on startup with a keyboard shortcut to show/hide it

And GitHub issues for collaboration

Did not say my self esteem, nor that I support trump

I said that's the group trump is targeting, and the democrats are making it too easy for him to win them over by pushing that same group away

I don't think any good sentence has ever started with "it's not that all of (group) are evil"

You ignored part of my message, I said the problem was that men's mental health problems are largely ignored, not that women don't have mental health problems

[–] flashgnash@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I've known a person who took that seriously and thought it was a good idea

Mental health issues being ignored by their peers and society as a whole is a pretty big one

You could claim women have mental health problems too and they do but they have spaces to talk about that

Imagine if you reversed the roles there and said something like issues facing women: handbag not sparkly enough or some shit

There are real issues for both men and women. The fact people think otherwise is part is the root of the problem

Doesn't need to continue but probably will because as other people have mentioned the left pushes them away and the right welcomes them

More like men don't want to elect someone who actively and publicly tells them they're the problem based on a minority that believe those things

Have also heard people talking about giving men vasectomies at 16 (people who don't understand they can't actually be undone)

Was rather shocked to find BT hubs don't allow you to change DNS servers anymore and force you to use their own ones, so I can't properly setup adguard.

What routers are people using now that are reliable and will let me control my own network configuration

Microsoft are looking at putting datacenters under the ocean, which sounds like a really good idea to cool them but I can’t help but think a couple decades from now it’s going to start causing us problems

Used to use reWASD and sometimes AutoHotkey on windows, but neither of these have linux support. Googling returns a couple of solutions but they're for x11.

I'm considering just giving up and writing macros in python, but that makes it a great deal more difficult to make quick and dirty scripts

Used to love playing cod zombies with my brother when I was younger, thinking of picking it up again

What's the best version for the zombies mode and why?

Server costs for large instances are a thing, and I think it's a good idea to have an incentive for people to keep hosting them

Can leave it up to each instance how they want to monetise. A lot of instances have donations setup already, could get a "premium" account to help the upkeep of the instance you're on and get rid of the ads

Also if people really hate them adblock exists

I'm trying to move away from Google and other big tech corporations as much as I can without sacrificing practicality but it seems like the only way to make contactless payments is with stock android on a Google approved device.

Is there any alternative out there that would allow me to make contactless payments without these conditions met? (For example, if I put grapheneos on my phone)

They're violating all kinds of data protection laws in refusing to allow users to delete their data

Unsure if this the right place to ask, sorry if it's not have just assumed this is for all open source android stuff.

Have been looking at e-os, and read about it being de-googled, which sounds great but I do still need to use some google services (YouTube, yt music, Google SSO etc)

I use 2fa with my Google account and have the pop up for allow/deny when I sign in, think this is the most frictionless 2fa sign in mechanism I've used yet.

Will this still work/be possible using EOS? And/or is there a way to enable select services but not others

Obviously this is a long shot but is there any way to get game pass working on Linux? I realise most of the games can be played through steam but it is a good way to try out new games cheaply

At the moment it seems like tapping on comment replies in my jerboa notifications tab does nothing. Would be ideal to tap it and it take me straight to the comment with context.

The best I can do is go to the page and scroll down until I find the message. Am I missing something or is this just not a feature?
