I don't think these two games can be reasonably compared. HL2 is currently free, while concord was a paid game.

[–] cron@feddit.org 5 points 1 day ago

Does anyone need some old SCART, VGA, DVI, serial, parallel, USB type B, coax, RJ11 cables? And that's only the stuff I know the names of.

[–] cron@feddit.org 10 points 1 day ago (4 children)

No dad, YOU never know when you might need them. I know for sure that keeping charging cables and headphones with proprietary connectors will never again be useful.

[–] cron@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago

It would make more sense for microsoft to partner with some hardware vendor and release a modified version of windows 11. With a nice mobile-optimized GUI, integration for the most popular game stores and an optional desktop mode.

[–] cron@feddit.org 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

If Microsoft really wants to get in the mobile gaming sector, why don't they even have a working protoype to show? The article claims that it is still "a few years away" at this point.

Doesn't sound like they really have high ambitions.

[–] cron@feddit.org 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I like it :) Can you provide a link to the sensors you used?

[–] cron@feddit.org 15 points 5 days ago (25 children)

You‘re supposed to host this yourself.

[–] cron@feddit.org 3 points 6 days ago

Set the DNS cache time to 60 seconds.

Set the script to run on every host delayed by some time to avoid simultaneously accessing the API (e.g. run the script every other minute).

With this approach, you get automatic failover in at most 3 minutes.

[–] cron@feddit.org 7 points 6 days ago

I'd host it on both webservers. The script sets the A record to all the servers that are online. Obviously, the script als has to check it's own service.

It seems a little hacky though, for a business use case I would use another approach.

If it's a civil and interesting discussion, why not?

[–] cron@feddit.org 1 points 6 days ago

OP said that they have a static website, this eliminates the need for session sync.

[–] cron@feddit.org 10 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Your challenge is that you need a loadbalancer. By hosting the loadbalancer yourself (e.g. on a VPS), you could also host your websites directly there...

My approach would be DNS-based. You can have multiple DNS A records, and the client picks one of them. With a little script you could remove one of the A Records of that server goes down. This way, you wouldn't need a central hardware.

Hello fellow Linux gamers,

Is there a way to pause or suspend games and turn off the PC similar to how the Steam Deck handles it? Or is this functionality exclusive to the Steam Deck?

I'm using Arch btw, but feel free to share solutions for other distros as well.

I came across Nyrna, but it seems to only support X11 and not Wayland, according to the description.

Submit your best AI-generated artwork and be part of this exciting journey beyond Earth. I'm sure you can do a lot better than my space station on the moon ;)

Like previous entries, take your time! Some of you can be super fast (me included) and the early bird often catches the worm. So for this challenge I’m subtracting a point for anyone who posts within 24 hours. It's not ideal, and I know it's not something everybody likes, but we should settle that outside the contest I think.

Reason for this meme is that some ubisoft titles are shipped with a broken version of ubisoft connect launcher. Installing these games is only possible by running the installer for the launcher again via protontricks.

This is the major release of Cemu 2.1 with a cumulative changelog which includes the changes from all 93 experimental releases since Cemu 2.0.

This release also is the first release of Cemu on Linux that is not marked as experimental.

The release was a few days ago, I didn't notice until today.

Juli gekürzt, was einen weiteren Anreiz bringt.

Was habt ihr gewählt?
