I'm a trans person and condemn anyone who won't vote to stop a fascist dictator that wants me dead from obtaining the nuclear codes

Thanks for posting this.

Good frontend work is HARD. It requires both design and engineering knowledge, and it's very easy to write unmaintainable or inaccessible code. It also requires a high amount of backend work via BFFs, load balancing, hosting and serving, credential management, and more. The cherry on top is that it's basically all async code.

To be clear, I'm talking about the types of FEs used by thousands internationally, fully adherent to WCAG 2.2 (and above), and with rich interactivity. I'm not talking about someone's hobby project with a couple dozen users at best.

Seeing backend elitists diminish its worth is tiring as all hell. To me, it indicates that the person is either new to the industry or looking for a sense of superiority because they don't understand FE work. It's meaningless and exhausting to read.

Tldr: I agree

Do carbon credits even do anything? I tried to look up more details about them but it seems even Bloomberg is skeptical. The better solution would be to stop unnecessarily flying everywhere

80% higher for me. It went up 29% from November alone

Well yeah one primarily affects brown people and the other primarily effects white nationalists. It makes perfect sense when you understand where their obligations lie.

Florida is trying to pass a law like this while also trying to pass a law that brands trans people as sex offenders

I'm a trans performer. During a fundraiser event, I literally went on stage and spoke about the various anti-lgbt bills being passed through the country, with references to said bills. I pleaded with people not to support the states trying to legislate away my existence.

Then I watched the same people in the audience turn around and book week-long travels to Florida. Why the fuck does everyone only go to Florida?

You know what would REALLY own us liberals? If they protested by wearing suits and masks made entirely of asbestos fiber. I don't even know what we'd do at that point.

People spend one-third of their lives asleep. What if employees could work during that time … in their dreams?

Prophetic, a venture-backed startup founded earlier this year, wants to help workers do just that. Using a headpiece the company calls the “Halo,” Prophetic says consumers can induce a lucid dream state, which occurs when the person having a dream is aware they are sleeping. The goal is to give people control over their dreams, so they can use that time productively. A CEO could practice for an upcoming board meeting, an athlete could run through plays, a web designer could create new templates—“the limiting factor is your imagination,” founder and CEO Eric Wollberg told Fortune.

I'm a performer, so I need my account for work and to book gigs. I've been locked out for almost a month due to a platform bug, and have tried and exhausted every possible avenue of support.

When a dragon looms overhead, casting its dreadful shadow upon the town, panic and chaos ensue. Peasants abandon their homes in haste, guards grasp their weapons with trembling hands, and even the most seasoned heroes of the town shiver with dread. However, the Olympian is the exception, harboring no fear within their heart. Instead, they are driven by an unwavering compulsion to confront the dragon that has dared to make its presence known.

The path of the Olympian empowers the barbarian to face creatures of myth and legend. Often misunderstood as reckless fools, drunken rabble-rousers, or lunatics courting death, Olympians view the formidable beings they challenge as stepping stones on their ascent to greatness. To these fearless individuals, common thugs are but minor nuisances, for they roam the land in relentless pursuit of titans, dragons, legendary beasts, and sometimes even gods.

This homebrew subclass is inspired by mythological heroes such as Hercules, Thor, and Beowolf, as well as games such as God of War and Shadow of the Colossus. The indomitable Olympian has no fear, and is driven by the urge to hunt down the biggest, baddest mfs out there. They possess unique abilities that enable them to track down worthy opponents, withstand their most powerful attacks, and take down titans with ease.
