I’ll take shitstorm for $100, Alex.

Elections are still coming. “Inflation” hasn’t been tamed. We’re also waiting for the next pandemic. Planetary thermal events are in progress. Mega drought in the American Southwest threatens to cripple hydroelectric power generation and agriculture for millions.

Normal? That’s just what they want you to think.

Arkansas, where transparency goes to die. Apparently.

OMFG! This is a shot across the bow of every skeevy publisher that’s done everything they can to screw the creators of myriad fictional characters in a variety of arenas. You go Mr. Willingham and god bless!

Judge Andrew Hanen, Republican, appointed by G.W. Bush, who received his law degree from Baylor, ruled as expected.

Nothing to see here, move on.

Fun fact: “obsfurcate” is used in the article. It is not recognized as a word by any dictionary consulted.

WTG TechCrunch.

MSN was reposting a NY Post story. Would be unsurprising if, in about a decade or, there’re lawsuits alleging emotional distress, lost wages, trauma, etc., against various media outlets.

Nope.

Engagement numbers help the IPO, this in turn would put more $$ in u/spez pocket and that I will not support.

You’re lucky if the communities you have followed survived intact or unaffected. The tenor of my feed was changing for the worse before the API protests. When I left, after? It was a shithole.

Sure, there are communities that I miss, that are absent, or have weak, or hard to find presences. But the solution isn’t to go lurk and buff those engagement metrics, in my somewhat Reddit hostile opinion.

Chaturbate is mentioned.

Fuck Meta and Mark.

I have an operational question, any help appreciated.

There are a handful of accounts, from one instance, that are the source of increasing amounts of SPAM in my feed.

In all cases the accounts have post history (their SPAM) and zero comment history. In every case the message encourages the reader to visit a web site, and we all know how that works.

Does reporting the posts do any good? I know I can block them, but that doesn’t stop the spread. Downvoting? Seriously, what’s the best approach on Lemmy to deal by with spammers?

Cannot post a reply to a photo in my feed, nor can I completely see the error message being returned to rectify matters.

This, after updating to v 0.5 off the Apple AppStore.

“POOLE, England, July 21 (Reuters) - A little-publicized clause in the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act has companies scrambling to recycle electric vehicle batteries in North America, putting the region at the forefront of a global race to undermine China's dominance of the field.”

“After Ukraine deployed drones to successfully offset Russia's advantages on the battlefield, Taiwan's leaders took note. But an internal report presented to President Tsai Ing-wen contained an alarming finding: In drones, Taiwan lagged far behind its much more powerful adversary - China. Now, the island has enlisted commercial drone companies in a bid to catch up.” Full article linked

After the update this week, I could no longer log into the instance I first logged to, using Memmy.

Every attempt was met with Unknown Error-Code Type…Network Request Failed, no feed and no joy.

In frustration I deleted the app and reinstalled. Same error. So I created an entirely new account, with different server instance and user deets, and I can once again access the fediverse.

Did my first instance shuffle from this mortal coil or what?

Any tips or tricks, greatly appreciated.
