The author appears to have a poor understanding of the full scope of what the protests are about, let alone the variety of creative actions being taken. This seems to be a marketing media publication, so that's their focus. I guess what's most important is that advertisers and others in the industry are noticing that Reddit has lost control of it's user-base and has become a risky investment. That's a pretty good result for the protests. The finer details don't matter so much.
Sarsaparilla
Friends, the solution to the /s is in good old txt emotis. Behold: -_-
That would cost a lot to host. Somehow, at one point, I ended up at https://share.tube/ which is a "PeerTube server" that uses ActivityPub, however I dunno how/if/when that would be integrated into kbin and lemmy.
No. FuckTheS <-- Someone plz remake this community here.
Yeh, it's my first time linking on here so I'm still learning how to do it. And I think it's different too, for Lemmy, kbin, and mastodon. Often I just copy the name or link and paste it to search in kbin to find the location.
I'm also finding the links I posted above send me to 404 if I click directly, but will open correctly if I right click/open in new tab. But here are two links that might work for kbin, however I dunno if they would work for Lemmy users lol.

edit: oh, and thanks! I've subbed to "Nails"
This is true for me as well. I became very considered with all my posts, and scared to post a quick off-hand remark on reddit. Often I would get half-way through a comment, and just delete it because I had become paranoid about how it would be received - even the most mundane thoughts and opinions. It was just too mentally exhausting to deal with. And also, I 'd just like to say: the "fancy pants" editor is shit.
The success of reddit is balancing on whether you open up that incredibly defiant group of nail artists! 🙃
Well, I'm glad you've found your way here. There are a couple of groups that might be of interest to you ...

Welcome! 🤗
No it does not describe the exact nature of the videos, but it does say:
The torture ring began life on YouTube, before moving to private groups on the encrypted messaging app Telegram.
Which makes me wonder if they are connected to the ones we saw.
OMG this is horrific!
I remember a little while back, all these cute monkey videos turning up on Youtube. And there were a few different channels. I watched a couple but became quickly curious about the origin - why a monkey was seemingly living with humans etc. I thought maybe it was some sort of rescue shelter, but the channel names didn't sound very official.
Someone in the comments mentioned that people should not watch/subscribe, but rather report the channels, because once the monkey's get to six months or something, they were killed. I reported the channels, but they also quickly dropped off my feed. I dunno if it was because of the algorithm, or because Youtube banned the channels.
I felt exactly the same way when I blocked the NSFW instance! I haven't blocked anyone, let alone a whole "community", for many years! Odd thing to think/consider when we just tryna block some pornbots lol.
From my understanding you wont get a prescription that you take to your chemist, but rather guided therapy sessions while under the influence.
