Not sure why you get downvoted. This was even one of the winners of the ignoble prize this year https://theconversation.com/the-data-on-extreme-human-ageing-is-rotten-from-the-inside-out-ig-nobel-winner-saul-justin-newman-239023
People are generally the oldest where record keeping is the worst or where records have been lost. Doesn't mean everyone is lying but in many cases the claimed age is not correct.
But... Maggots are useful?
Did the guardian cut off the article on accident?
There's this passage at the end of it that just doesn't seem to relate to the rest:
In 2007 Ulvaeus was wrongly accused of failing to pay 85m kronor (£7.9m) in Swedish taxes between 1999 and 2005, and went on to successfully appeal against the decision.
Like, OK, it is about taxes but specifically about the taxes on the stage clothes of the 70s/80s, so how does talking about his taxes between 99 and 05 add anything to the discussion?
Not accurate at all. They eat whatever, just on the ship its mostky replicated food since that saves storage space.
No clue at all what the free will part is about.
If you are part of the federation you wear a uniform, sure. If you are not, you don't. So what?
Yeah, that is sort of what the parent part is about.

Hilarious, makes me kind of want to see it fail again just to see what people come up with as the next name in line.
This is... how that almost always works? People don't check how much it sums up to with those smaller payments and pretty much always end up paying more. Because it is so little per payment, the average person looking at this does not consider that.
I actually always wondered about the y in old texts. Thanks!
The enforcing part is where this is likely to get shitty. Once they establish this as a law they maybe will try and sue companies that don't provide an age check on their websites. Now if that is possible I am not sure, seeing as many of those are having HQs in Ireland or Netherlands due to tax reasons.
But if that is successful it would mean they actually have to check everyone's age by some means, which means collecting IDs. Which definitely is bad news for users, we all know that data won't be securely stored or deleted.
Not sure how else this could go down.
I think there is a clear difference between being immortal and being indestructible. I would think if your planet breaks apart you'd probably die with it being crushed or whatever. Also always unclear if being immortal means you don't need to breathe air.
