No, it's STACY and a couple other people.

That's literally how I browse Lemmy. And how I always browsed reddit when I was there.
It's so much more interesting when you don't know what you're about to get.
But nobody thinks those people are cool.
I used to have a family. Wife, two daughters. Then one night I started watching the Blade trilogy.
I was mocking the attitude that something can't be discovered by one group of people if a different group of people already knew about it.
Columbus discovering the Americas is commonly called a "euro-centric definition of discovery". While conveniently ignoring that literally nobody in Europe knew the Americas existed.
Dumb TVs are called "digital signage" now.
Recycling companies get subsidized by the government in a lot of places. They don't need to charge when they get paid with taxpayer dollars.
This is a very human centric definition of discovery.
Penguins had been living there for millenia beforehand.
Caffeine is pretty well studied and it's known that the long term health effects are nothing close to cocaine. I doubt if there was any good science back then on the long term effects of cocaine, let alone enough education for the populace to know and understand it.
However social perceptions may change anyway. What we consider as not serious may be considered much more serious in the future. For example many people get headaches or even migraines as a withdrawal symptom of caffeine, and we don't consider a headache to be serious.
But I saw a Star Trek episode once where Picard gets a headache and it was a big deal because those had been solved for hundreds of years by that time! Turns out the ferengi were controlling his mind or something. So caffeine may be considered a serious drug in the future if it interferes with the detection of alien mind control devices.
Gulping a big spoonful of olive oil does it for me. That's if I haven't had enough fibre. The oil lubricates things.
It's gross, but not as gross as pushing something up your shit-clogged rectum.
And then a billionaire gets in their private jet, and in just 5 seconds of flight generates 8000 times more carbon emissions than she's saved in her entire life.
Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration.
They still want to be hated, just less.
Who's the halfwit that came up with that line lmao
