At a business, a secretary, almost always a woman, would answer the phone for all calls. There were no direct lines into anyone. If you were in she would transfer the call to your office. If you were out she would use this pad to take messages. When you came back in to the office you would always stop at the front desk and you would be handed your messages.

That's an excellent point. Not technology, but people ask me for tips on playing golf. I tell them what I think they need to correct and how to do it. And they start arguing with me. And I'm like I don't care if you play like shit, you ASKED ME for help.

**The concept of resurrection wasn’t even new when Christianity started **

You point was clearly made by the Bill Maher movie "Religulous"

It's the same "story" recycled over and over with a bit of a different touch based on the culture

But there is a big difference between a human spreading a message of hope and kindness and a divine presence.

Because it's an interesting theory. And if it's true it certainly doesn't make you a believer

I read this book many, many years ago. I found the proposed theory interesting. I am not saying that I believe it.

I find it fascinating that many of the true believers actually believe he was born on December 25th. They have no awareness of how this date was conjured up to compete with other existing non religious celebrations.

Gold. Just like it always had been. Then you would finally have balanced budgets

you really have to keep in mind how much the world has changed since they got here

We all tend to think that the existing technology when we grew up was the benchmark and always existed. Many people are alive today that went to college before computers even existed. Back then the closest thing to a computer filled a room and worked with punch cards. On the smartphone side, how many even remember those pink pads that were used to write down phone messages. Or dial up internet over a phone line with those strange noises as the connection was made.

That's a great story

I can understand that you might not approve of the lifestyle, as some kind of religious person, but why do they have to persecute others.

kinda miss the snow but also remember how quickly its charm wears off.

Yep. Peaceful and relaxing when it first comes down. Then quickly turns to dirty slush

The initial question is always "Do you believe in god" But the answer to that question that I never see is "that depends on your definition of god. I believe that there is something behind all of this. I have no idea what it is but there has to be some meaning to it. That could be no different than the life existence of a squirrel for us humans. What I know is just nonsense and mythology are personal gods. Moses, Jesus, Mohammed......whatever. They may have been real historical people. They may have spread a message of hope and comfort. But they certainly were no more human than the rest of us.
