Still, it's not just mathematics, humans are making decisions on what companies to add or remove from the indices in a majority of cases.

This response sums up my feelings as well.

I understand the sentiment, but does that really justify killing innocent civilians at a music event?

You'll never guess how indices are created

Don't you think it'd be pretty easy to teach it to still be able to read it?

This was my understanding as well, it makes the math make sense but we haven't actually "proven" it, it's possible we're misunderstanding some fundamental aspect of physics but given all the evidence this is what makes sense.

My laymen understanding is they slowly break down and become less effective but not dangerous or negative.

I have a bit of an alternative, I used to get headaches a lot as a child, the meds absolutely helped as usually I'd take them so I could sleep it off, which almost always did clear it up.

I'm not sure why I was so frequently having headaches, but it definitely dropped off a lot once I moved out and started my own life, now it's only maybe once or twice a month.

Is that technically an allergic reaction?

That's not why she was better in the eyes of the party, lol

Growing up in America there's definitely an initial feeling of "law and order" ruling many of America's past with interfering in other countries affairs, eventually you learn about the fucked up shit if you actually start looking though lol.

I remember I did a presentation in middle school about Operation Paperclip and most of the class thought I was making it up lol.

Does anyone else think having emojis as a response to a comment/thread would be a neat addition instead of only upvote/downvote?

Reddit seemed to sorta do that with awards but thats not quite what I'm suggesting.

Something similar to GitHub for instance, except we keep the upvote downvote system as-is.

This would hopefully discourage the use of upvote/downvote as a "I like/dislike this" button while also adding the ability to more accurately express the emotion the post/comment illicited

Additionally, there are a lot of people who are mostly just lurkers and have no desire to post, but they want to be able to emote further then just a upvote/downvote but DON'T want to actually post a comment like "I love this" or "You're so right" or even just commenting an emoji, because making a comment is a whole extra action that makes them visible, opens up to comments or upvotes/downvotes.
