If the knowledge was only dad's preferences in women, sure, mostly harmless. The damaging part of this would be the villianification sexual desire. You're telling someone that a normal part of having a body is wrong and you should feel shame for it. You're also thrusting the responsibility for the parent's impulses onto a minor.

I'm also not naive enough to believe that they had any serious, healthy discussions about sexual urges beforehand. This is the right, its just indoctrinating them onto the shame and guilt spiral as soon as possible.

Then go talk to them, quit demanding that the left to be more patient and forgiving to people who actually want to kill them.

You may not identify as a centrist, but you're pushing their views. If your don't want to be one, it sounds like it's time for some self reflection.

I don't see them as "others" because they have different beliefs. I see them as "others" because they have willingly allowed propaganda to radicalized them into believing we don't deserve the same rights as as them, which gives them an excuse to see us as less than human. When they don't believe we deserve rights and are less than human, this happens.

Stop putting the blame on the people defending themselves and their rights and place it on the aggressors. But clearly the enlighted centrist knows better...

And this is not a collection of shit. It is one show. Judging by your comment history though you're fucking insufferable. Take a block and go be miserable elsewhere no one cares about your whiny ass opinions.

Franchise was the word you're misusing, dumbass. I don't even care about the show. It could be literally be a reboot of anything, but it's not a fucking franchise. Words have meanings.

So you should be allowed to throw whatever buzzwords you feel like at it? Fuck off, if you can express actual critique for it fine, but just "boo-hoo I hate franchises" is a useless addition to any discussion about it.

I much prefer practical effects, always have

Franchise, really? Throwing that word around pretty loosley now aren't we? It was 1 show that ran for three seasons and still has fans after 29 years.

What made it a franchise? Is every cartoon a "franchise" now because there could be merchandise? No, find something actually criticize or fuck off.

What's really the most annoying though, is listening to whiny "critics", like yourself, cry about how popular they are all the fucking time.

The edition I have has some excerpts from an interview he did way back in the day and he talks about how he had to produce different scripts for adaptations and how the story had evolved over time. His solution was when he had to change the script everyone either said the same things for different reasons or different things for the same reasons. It made it feel like the story was always kind of fluid for him.

Edit because lemmy is such a small world and I just found myself agreeing with you again

I have had to assure my dad a few times that Portland is, in fact, still there.

Uh oh, somebody got their feelings hurt

Is there anyway we could get a border on the thumbnail for videos in compact viewing? It's got the little globe icon in the lower right corner, but that only shows up on light colored thumbnails. An option to change the color of it would work just as well. I just keep opening YouTube videos that I think are images and then the video shrinks when you hit back instead of closing, while I panic and try to find the little x that actually closes it

So this is probably just me being old and stuck in muscle memory, but maybe it's worth fixing at some point. I use the compact view, so when a picture catches my interest I click it to blow it up. With the image enlarged to cover my screen, and anything not covered by the image filtered to be dark, pressing the back button doesn't close the image, it immediately exits the feed and keeps the image open. I know I can scroll the picture away, but pressing back is just the first thing my mind does, and then I lose my place and have to go back into the feed and scroll down trying to find my spot. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things and my hands will learn the new defaults, but closing the pictures first seems like an easy fix.
