I had the same problem with a solar eclipse that happened recently. I drive about 800 miles and then slept through it.
It was raining sideways for me most of the day, and hailing off and on as well. I thought I was going to miss it like most other astronomical events that happen.
The rain about an hour before it started and picked back up just before it's peak but I was happy to see what I did.
Most of the time I just see clouds for cool events.
Hopefully for the next cool astronomical event you'll be able to catch it. I've been trying to get a specific astro photo for 2 years now because things keep going wrong; one year was a forest fire, the other it was raining. I'm going to try again this year but I'm not holding my breath.

I captured this with my Lumix G9 with my 100-300mm lens (at 300mm) with a 1 second shutter speed.
Name the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of something blue.

On a recent walk with my TLR camera I stumbled upon this overgrown door and I had to snap a pic of it.
I was really happy when I got home and developed the film to see that this shot came out.
I snapped a pic of some local graffiti and after developing the film but while it was still drying, I snapped a pic of it to do some light editing to check how the roll came out.
This was one of the shots, the quick pic had glare on it from my bathroom light and it got all funky when I started doing some edits.
I just had to share it when I saw it.

Depends on what you mean by "press" really
Moving your foot through a gas will displace the gas, and there will be a (albiet small) pressure difference around the foot as it moves through the gas. An increase on the side in direction of movement, a decrease on the opposite side of direction of movement, and some vortices on the sides.
Basically a very poorly designed wing.
