Isn't it counterproductive to split a niche forum into smaller parts for growth and hence success of it?

Linux is always the better choice :) but many people still rely on windows and think linux is just something for nerds

This is so true! Google used to be great years ago. But the whole "intelligent algorithm" destroyed it.

Protonmail doesn't require an email or phone number. It just requiers your IP address for sign up

You only need the connection for activation, not for general use.

Usually you can buy a windows ~~license~~ activation code from someone for $3-5, why would you pirate it? You can get the official windows version and put in your code.

It's better for windows if you use such a license than linux.

Yes! True!

But the story is much bigger than that I guess.

If I write highly controversial stuff that shouldn't be said/posted, it get's deleted, but everyone can still see the content because of the previous version. I think in extreme cases this is a problem.

It's just that on reddit I always thought it's annoying when someone deletes a post or his account because I could just go to a mirror site and look up the comment.

~~Can you elaborate? That doesn't make sense in my head.~~

~~generally I wouldn't recommend Debian-based distros to a programmer.~~

~~Or plain Arch to someone uninterested in technology.~~

Nevermind, I read that you would recommend it.
