Es wurde ein Präzedenzfall geschaffen.
Ab jetzt könnte sich jeder Staat nun strafbar machen, wenn er nicht genug fürs Klima tut, sogar mit einem Verstoß gegen die Menschenrechte.
Schnerzhafte Konsequenzen und Strafen sind ein gutes Mittel, um Oragnisationen (und vor allem vielleicht bald große Unternehmen...) dazu anzuhalten dieses Problem ernst zu nehmen.
Mit etwas Glück können wir so auch einigen der schlimmsten Umweltsündern unter den Staaten etwas Feuer ans Haus legen, damit wir nicht alle verbrennen.

Wird Zeit dass er und die ganzen anderen neoliberalen Deppen seiner Partei an der 5%-Hürde kleben bleiben. Ich kann diese politischen Saboteure nicht mehr sehen, wie sie dauernd was blockieren und den Menschen schaden.

If anyone tells you otherwise, they just lie. And at this point, not knowing this basic fact is just an admission of ignorance at best. Because I can google that in 5 minutes and drown in research-findings, that are easy enough to read. Also this "issue" is so present in general media, not having heard of it is practically impossible.
I just wish news-outlets would start mentioning that fact in the headlines. This is not a debate, and never has been.

Like every time with conservatives: The cruelty is the point. They just hate you. They want you dead.
Conservatives are reactionary. Per deffinition they oppose progression of the world.
This is pretty much informed simplicity at this point. Stop derping around with definitons who fail to encapsulate reality, you miss the point:
You fail to move on? Conservative! No matter how you slice it.
Whenever some GOP smooth-brain spews something about gay marriage being a sin, remember that this thing was illegal for some time. That thankfully changed, but their minds didnt.
They are stuck in a past that no longer should exist but they crave nonetheless:
Nostalgia. Not even once.
Conservatives. Same as always.
Democrat or Republican are shorhands nowadays, but the real problem is people who cant move on, when the world did.
Conservatism is the problem. And today, all Republicans are just entirely and idealogically that, while maybe some Democrats are to a slight degree. But practically nothing in comparisson.
Dont be Conservative. Move on. Or get left behind, like their ideas they desperately cling to.
Jetzt hoffe ich noch, dass ein Verstoß dagegen mit einer drakonischen Geldstrafe in %-Gesamtumsatz von Meta geahndet wird. Jede Einnahme die mit solchen illegalen Daten erfolg ist damit in ihrer Gesamtheit illegal und muss eingezogen werden.
Unternehmen mit so großem Einfluss und Nutzermengen kann man nicht vertrauen sich selbst zu regulieren und es ist gut zu lesen, dass der Staat endlich in die Richtung aktiv wird.
