These are a bit more make your own story: Rimworld with Multiplayer mod (feels like its vanilla multiplayer tbh) and Project Zomboid :)

Change it to only have effect in a radius, on non-player entities. BOOM #ImADeveloperNow

Maybe combine the loot fest with some hades difficult combat? I have similar feelings as yours, the genre is really cool but in the end, it's all just this hidden grindfest? At least with (real) brutal combat, you still need to "make it happen", big numbers is just the req.

I don't understand the outrage either. All the folks screaming at this clearly think inclusivity is bad. It's weird to be on Xitter rn, you feel like you want the reach it gives, but do you really want reach when all you can reach is these hatespewers?

For Kindle specific ripping, I think it changed a year back and now you need to have a kindle connected before the Amazon servers poop out some magic unlock key/the whole book. After that you're golden, but during the rip you need a kindle device..

They explain the Kindle difference when using Calibre DeDRM tool in this article.

I get angry when folks cut in line, or otherwise broadcast that they think that everyone around them is basically a piece of human garbage whose time is worth way less then theirs. Well, you don't know me or my life, rude stranger.

They might think that everyone is worthless, but it's common courtesy to give random strangers the benefit of the doubt until they prove to you that they do not deserve that courtesy. It seems like such a low bar to me for living comfortably in a society, so if my fellow humans can't even muster that, that hits me in the feels :-). Oh well, sucks to be them!

That sounds like a lot of work without any returns!

The /s at the end is used to indicate sarcasm. With that information, I would rate it joke/10

This seems like such a fair way to add some discomfort to filibustering and making it a bit less appealing.

With shorts specifically, on my old now non existant account, which had a scary good profile of me, I got washed with right wing bullshit and transphobia when it shoehorned shorts in my life. It knew very very well who I was and that I would not enjoy any of that. I notified YT through don't show me this again buttons, and when it wouldn't stop I informed them they had 7 days to get this out of my recommendations or I would close my activity at their website. They did not react, they did not make shorts an option, they did not get the right wing garbage out of the 3 shorts they managed to throw in my face somehow every day when using YouTube. This account was over 10yo. Seeing how good their normal recommendations were, I can only conclude it was broken or bought for shorts, and thus you should be extremely reticent/reluctant blaming it on the users when they get wierd stuff.

My goal is to inform you that your N=1 is unrepresentative, I came in to say: "shorts algorithm suggestions were completely out of wack to my YouTube account(too!)" so now we have at least n=3, and if we can trust each other to say the truth, your 'its a you problem' is false. That's important, because you accused someone of having certain interests, based on their experiences with that algorithm. I think that's pulling the gun and putting too much 'trust' in a commercial YT algorithm, that worked for some (you I guess) but not for all.
