Depends on the province since health is a provincial jurisdiction. In Ontario the cost is $45 Canadian unless you’re on social assistance of any sort then it’s free, or if it’s between two medical facilities which is also free

A cop told me after my car was totaled that he called the local tow truck, and the cost was covered by the city.
Imagine my surprise when I went to the tow yard a couple days later and they handed me my $800 bill.
